It’s been a while since I published a blog post for this site. Things have been pretty hectic for me on a number of fronts since last August, 2019. But I’m finally getting a handle on them and wanted to take some time to show you the beautiful finished pieces my crochet photo pattern customers have created.

I’ve posted some of these on Facebook and Instagram, but I wanted to gather them here for you to see.

Peggy K. is one of my customers who has a crochet photo pattern business, creating beautiful pieces for sale. This finished piece won her a first place prize at her local art gallery. She chose to crochet the pattern, using what I call the “bottom up” orientation with horizontal rows, as opposed to a “side to side” orientation with vertical rows.

Nora A. also has a flourishing business selling her finished crochet photo pattern pieces. As you can see, you can create color pieces as well as gray scale. However, color pieces typically don’t work well with portraits. Logos like this, on the other hand, turn out beautifully in color.

I have to admit, I am in love with Eva B.’s piece. I call it “Cool Dude” because, well, he’s a cool dude, right? The scale of this piece is pretty large (200 rows) because there is so much going on in the photo – the man, the car, and the background. These larger pieces might take a little longer to complete, but as you can see, they are well worth the effort.

This piece is based on a pattern I did for Ann C. of her beloved, deceased pet, Missy. She loved it so much that she told me she had it professionally framed. Close up portraits like these don’t require as many rows as the more detailed photos and work up fairly quickly.

And finally, even if you don’t have the perfect photo, you can still create beautiful pieces like Keyana R. did with this one, based on an old photo of her grandmother. The red border really makes the gray scale image pop! I can do basic photo editing to improve the quality of old photos, so don’t let that stop you from considering one that you absolutely love.
