I was telling Barb, who tagged me, that I think this is the first time I’ve been tagged since I’ve been blogging for 2.5 years. Ok, so here goes.
1. What was I doing 10 years ago?
Oh wow! In 1998, my oldest Brother, Daniel, died suddenly a day before my birthday. I was in Cape May, NJ, vactionaing with friends when I heard the news. It was a pretty rough year, because shortly after that my father started showing signs of dementia. Can’t remember much else about 1998.
2. What are five (non-work) thinks on my to-do list today?
– Go to Border’s to return two books that I bought and can’t imagine why I ever did.
– Pay bills
– Crochet
– Watch season finale of “Lost”
– read my romance novel
3. Snacks I enjoy:
– red seedless grapes (see, I can be good)
– original Wheat Thins (with all the salt) with strawberry cream cheese
– Pop Secret popcorn (at least the first one was healthy)
4. Things I would do if I were a billionaire:
– start some kind of foundation to give some of that money away.
– buy a house somewhere in Ahuimanu Hills, furnished to the max with a big flat screen tv.
– buy a fuel-efficient or hybrid car (just ’cause I’m rich doesn’t mean I can’t be “green”).
– pay off my and my daughter’s student loan debt
– write the book I’ve been trying to write for 15 years
– buy a whole lotta yarn and the means to organize it.
5. Places I have lived:
– Washington, DC; Maryland; Hawaii (boy, was I so provincial until a year and a half ago!)
6. Jobs I have had:
– research assistant at the Center for Applied Linguistics
– Clerk typist, EEO Specialist, Personnel Management Specialist, Employee Development Specialist (all government jobs).
– Contractor/consultant (I got out of the government only to have the government as my main client)
– Freelance writer/editor
7. Peeps I want to know more about?
2 comments On Yeah! I’ve been tagged!
From one end of the country to the other! What’s an EEO specialist? Is it top secret? What’s the book about? Is it a crochet book?
Hey Barb! EEO stands for Equal Employment Opportunity – I wrote final agency decisions on discrimiation complaints.
As for the book, at first I wanted to write a romance novel, but that was way harder than I thought. I may still do one, but for now I’ve decided to write a self-help book; that’s more in line with the kind of writing I used to do as an instructional designer. I’m not ready to reveal the content just yet.
No crochet book on the horizon as of today, but who knows? …..
